Dear all,
I never believed in this vague concept of blogging, as i wondered that this is not a very good concept of communicating or spreading the word around. As a matter of fact word of mouth rule still holds well in each and every environment, but I could not hold myself when I read a blog few days back on Indian Institute of Planning and Management and its activities, it was really a horrible portrayal of the institute and it’s functioning of day to day affairs. I have been teaching at IIPM for the last 7 years and I have seen the institute mature in these years; it has become more in the lines of global institutes. The course content is excellent as compared to other B-schools. IIPM also invites faculty from various Ivy League b-schools and also institutes like LSE and Said Business School. It really gives the student a global exposure; since last year international placements have really picked up this year at least 100 students are expected to be placed internationally, that’s great news for the students. Last year itself saw companies like Deolitte Consulting, Oracle, Malwa Group, BNP Paribas, Every Dennison, Sahara, Shell, Schneider Electric, GE Money, ICICI Bank, Evalueserve, Pipal Research, Anand Rathi, MetLife, Hindustan Lever Network, HSBC, Berger Paints, ESSAR Group, iGate, Dlf, HCL info systems and list goes on IIPM also is doing some great research work like they have partnered with Yale School of Management for the Indian stock market confidence index, that is the level of IIPM research. CERAS (Centre for Economic Research and Advanced Studies) which does cutting edge research on various topics and also creates models for various business environments, which is constantly adding value to the institute. In the last 7 years I have been teaching in this institute the course content has been updated each and every year, the good part about this Institute from the rest is that it teaches the students whatever is relevant in today’s competitive environment, I do also teach at various other b-schools in and around Delhi but i am still not able to find out such a dynamic courseware. The student mix at IIPM is also very fascinating people from various background and streams come here to study so the year I started teaching at IIPM I had students from Tamil Nadu, Maharastra, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir with educational backgrounds in the field of Engineering, Pharma, Commerce, Arts and so on and till date the students from various educational backgrounds choose IIPM over other institutes, this shows the level of education and training provided by IIPM, I am not saying this because I am associated with IIPM as a faculty, but I feel my students have really become more smarter and hardworking as they venture into the corporate world. I am also very closely associated with the corporate world, so I do get feedback from my friends and colleagues. It’s a wonderful experience to be associated with The Indian Institute of Planning and Management; I wish them all the best for their future endeavours.
